The rats are still around. I hear them squeaking when I walk around the grounds of the condo. I almost stepped on one, not once but twice.
Just a few days ago the local newspapers reported that a worker in Little India died on July 11 from a rat-transmitted disease.
Tests showed that the 27 year-old worker from Bangladesh had contracted leptospirosis, a bacterial infection spread from rats to humans.
Are we waiting till someone from Cashew Heights gets the same infection before making a more concerted effort to get rid of the rats?
